My name is Sara Codd and I am an artist that works mostly in mixed media collage. Mixed media simply refers to artwork created with the use of more than one medium or material. This could mean employing the use of cloth, paper, wood, found objects and more. The word collage is derived from the French term “to glue”. I use a decoupage glue to build layers of mostly recycled paper goods to capture images of landscapes, animals and other items that catch my eye and inspire me. Nature is often the driving force in my creations and I can be found snapping photos to refer to later in the studio. I have dabbled in various mediums such as stained glass, painting, drawing and sculpture, but collage has been the most consistent force in my work. I love trying to mimic the beauty of the world around me in my art. I am from Maine originally, and have had the good fortune to be able to travel across the US and live on the West coast and travel back to the East Coast. This experience has allowed me to see and experience many beautiful places to further influence my artistic visions. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed creating it. Thank you for visiting my site.
